 If you love the Netflix original series, Orange is the New Black, you probably adore the spiky haired Russian woman, Red. What you probably didn’t know is Kate Mulgrew, the actress who plays Red, is a birth mother, herself. While acting in the 1970’s soap opera, Ryan’s Hope, Kate became pregnant and chose adoption for her infant daughter. "That may be the one completely unselfish thing I've done in my life,” says Mulgrew. “It was God at work, with a little help from me.”
