TUESDAY TIP: Skype and Facetime

The new innovations of Skype and Facetime have changed adoption. These are extremely useful tools to help birthparents and adoptive families keep in touch. This week we used Skype to complete two final hearings. Two Lawyers/parents from California, their daughter, and their new baby appeared on the screen. They testified before Judge Grim from the comfort of their living room. Our Pittsburgh Family was spared the rainy drive to the courthouse. They have five children—three are adopted. Friday was the toddlers third birthday, so he was glad to be home for the party. The newborn brother was officially adopted by the “miracle” of Skype with the family on the screen at home.
